This is called cutting back. Install the second tile in the same manner on the opposite side of the chalk line. Insert spacers between the two tiles. Place a level across the two tiles to make sure they are level. Press on the tile to push it closer to the wall as needed. Continue laying tiles along the bottom row until no more full-sized tiles will fit. Remember to mix and match the tiles from the different stacks as you go.
Measure the remaining space at the end of the row if a full-sized tile will not fit. Subtract the width of the spacer and cut a tile that size using a wet saw. Install the tile and spacers. Start the second row at the pencil line.
Line up the edges of these tiles with the ones on the first row. It is not uncommon for slate tiles to be slightly different sizes, and if you focus only on using spacers to set them then you will not wind up with straight lines.
Keep installing rows, lining up tile edges rather than spacers, until the entire back wall is covered. Then repeat the process for each side wall. Leave the walls to cure for 24 hours. No amount of sealer will keep water, soap, shampoo, or hair out of those crevices—even if it technically protects the surfaces of the stone. Most types of natural stone need to be sealed once a year. The best type and application of sealer depends on the stone, so this is something to learn from your stone supplier.
Typically, a penetrating-type sealer is recommended for stone in showers. Topical sealers and enhancing sealers generally are discouraged because they can flake off over time or discolor the stone or grout in this wet environment. Stone sealed with penetrating sealer resists water to some degree, so the water may bead rather than soak in, but the stone still gets wet and simply has to dry out between showers. If you're putting stone on your shower floor, make sure it won't be slippery when wet, soapy, or even scummy.

I had a similar problem with my black VT slate shower. I researched getting rid of the white and some people suggested epoxy paint. Too risky for peeling IMO. The install by a tile professional didn't seal the cement floor and also did not pre-seal both sides of the VT black slate before install. So in time the slate especially on the floor and some spots on the sides turned white. I tried muriatic acid.. After you are done sealing the entire slate shower then you should inspect it for any areas of sealer haze on the slate tiles.
