When I returned as a human the next morning, there was no body on the execution block, so I thought I'd saved him, but soon I found him lying dead in another part of town.
Does this mean he ran off and dropped dead anyway, or did the guards get him? Has anyone else tried to save him this way? I just visited Solitude the first time with my new Character, and instead of Roggvirs execution everyone is talking about the burning of King Olaf "Burn the King! Roggvir and the headsman are just standing on the tribune and do nothing and many People wait at the Bards College near the King Olaf Dummy. I have o clue why this happened, maybe because i entered through the Back entrance, or because i had open Cities installed and uninstalled it because I had compatibility issues with Hearthfire.

I followed him the first time I attempted this when he ran away and clearly saw a random imperial guard in the city take him down with an arrow. Perhaps he was aiming at me and he was simply caught in the crossfire? Maybe the fact that he was hostile to the captain had something to do with it. One time he sat on the stairs and another time he ran into a door, so his destination seems random but I'm not sure.

I glitched him and he ran off and disappeared in thin air, I'll say he's saved :D Now I have to use the console to spawn the item I was supposed to loot. How did you glitch him? If he runs away he just hides somewhere, if you don't stop the guards they will find and kill him.

User Info: skinnygingertop. Enter the town, and hide behind the building to the left. If you have a bow and arrow, or crossbow, you can stealthily kill the executioner if you are quick.
I did it with one of my Xbox characters, but it was that long ago that I can't remember what happens after. User Info: luckyman He drops dead regardless. If you kill the executioner, the other guy would just kill him anyway.
Kill both those guys and someone else would kill him. So you'd have to wipe out the whole town if you wanna save him and its impossible Even in numbers, a weakling is a weakling still. If your using mods, let him die and resurrect him. Then get him to follow you, make him essential, give him executioner clothes and axe for irony lolz, then marry him so you know he'll stay at home.
Everyone still speaks as if he's dead, but he will sometimes reappear in or around the execution site, and even use the grindstone there. He wont get off it unless you try to use it, he doesnt speak, and if you try to talk to him he disappears completely and never respawns.
So, yes you can "save" him, and no it doesn't change anything, he's essentually a useless NPC, with no dialogue, who everyone talks about as if he's dead, despite him grinding away all day, and will disappear if you talk to him. So far, the only way I can do is through console command, spawn him inside his sister Greta house Addvar house. He will never go outside tho. Explore Wikis Community Central.
